[ What a revelation. I trust your judgment. On Earth, Misa had always been perfectly fine resigning herself to follow Light's orders, to crafting herself into the perfect tool for him to wield. She can't think of a single time that she acted on her own that he'd been particularly pleased.... but Yima knows about everything, right? And even still, she has this much faith in her?
It's not like she needs the confidence boost, really. But the Matron's words make her feel bolder, validated. She'd unnecessarily assumed that Yima would be more like Light — would prefer telling her what to do, how, and when. She wouldn't have minded that. No, she would've done so happily, even. But this is different, an exciting kind of different.
She almost feels... well, a little more equal to her. Like they're sharing the vision before them, walking on the same path side by side. Misa nods once in understanding, settling back into the plush cushions, her gaze not leaving her companion for a moment. There's plenty brewing there in her eyes: admiration, curiosity, and most of all, conviction. The conviction that's always at a simmer beneath all of the airy, bubbly surface. ]
Sure, no problem. [ Her words are dreamy - this is all turning out a million times better than she ever thought it would. She really does belong here. ] So all I have to do is get stronger with Zenith. Then I'll be useful to Light and to you.... or, I mean, to us!
[ Unlock the Note's powers.... she'd hardly had any doubts left about Zenith, anyway, and any potential what-ifs that had remained have been erased in about the last two minutes of this interaction. She has no reason to stray way from here, ever, with this book in hand and all that Yima has afforded her. ]
I'll just carry it around everywhere then, to hurry up. [ She laughs, joking about what Yima had said about keeping it in her hold. ] Well, except around other people.
Not everyone can understand the vision of the just.
[ Discretion would be advisable, yes - but... ]
Yet I think you will find someone with whom you may trust to see what you and I see. When you do, would you tell me?
[ For Misa to formulate bonds among her peers and find those among their lot who have the same conviction, the same dogged determination to see their ends met - Yima would like to know who she chooses. ]
Of course I would! I want to find the people who would support Kira, anyway...
[ Because those are the type of people who she knows would strive towards the very same world she is Those types are the only ones she can really, really trust deep down. It's for that reason that she's confident sharing a tidbit: ]
Amos is a good first guess for right now, you know. He knows about the Note already, and he even said he would've helped me get it back. So I think he gets it! [ confident nod!! ] But I hope there will be more. I'll be watching for them. When I find them, I'll be sure to give them the Misa-Misa recommendation. Ahaha.
I know, I'll watch out for the opposite, too. I guess Yima already knows that Misa keeps an eye on those types.
[ She's referring to the news broadcasters she'd executed for speaking against Kira — maybe she wouldn't be able to immediately eliminate naysayers like she could before, but she's happy to tattle on anyone she feels is getting a little too into anti-Zenith sentiment. ]
[ Mention of Amos's name has the satisfied look in Yima's eyes deepening; apparently she agrees with Misa's assessment of his character. ]
Then we will be patient until you find them. Misa... your vision for the future is clear. It is not a gift everyone can share, and there will be those who cannot understand the sacrifices you have made and will make.
Know I see you as you are. I understand.
[ And will be supportive of her, no matter how difficult the choice, how great the sacrifice she makes — or how great a sacrifice asks of others.
Yima rises to her feet to take her leave, and as she passes Misa's chair, her fingers brush lightly against the Zenite's shoulder. It will leave Misa with a feeling of bolstered confidence for the remainder of the day, feeling a deep and resonating connection with the Zenith. ]
We will see what they cannot. When their eyes finally open... they will see as you do.
